When I was a kid I knew I wanted to work with animals. I was forever asking my Mum for a dog and as she was (and still is) a cat lover we kept ending up with cats. I didn’t mind, I loved all animals and I was going to be a veterinarian anyway and work with all animals! Flash forward to college where I didn’t enjoy science (or school at all really) and I threw away my dreams of working with animals, because a vet was the only career path I knew of, and so for the time being, I settled on travel and tourism. Flash forward another few years to graduating, studying, meeting a boy, buying a house and… getting our first dog!

Hello Logan – a corgi. He was a bundle of fun! Having never had a dog before we signed up for puppy school, and then the follow-on course and then… the school was hiring! I asked if someone with no experience would be allowed to apply. And hired, I was! Suddenly, despite not taking science, I could see myself working with animals again!
